Editorial Policy
Last Updated: 24 Dec 2025
At Lives Abroad, our goal is to publish practical, easy-to-understand guides about digital nomad visas, visit visas, and travel destinations. Because visa content can impact major life decisions (YMYL), we take accuracy seriously.
1) How we create content
Our articles are produced through:
Research from official sources (government/immigration portals, embassy/consulate pages, official program pages)
Cross-checking with multiple reputable references when possible
Real-world documentation checklists and common applicant questions
2) Sources & citations
Where relevant, we:
Link to official government/embassy pages
Mention key program requirements (income thresholds, duration, fees, documents) and update them when changes occur
If you notice a missing or outdated source, email us at [your-email].
3) Accuracy & updates
We aim to keep visa guides updated, especially for fees, eligibility, and processing timelines.
Important pages include a “Last Updated” date.
If a program changes, we update the guide and, when helpful, note what changed.
4) Corrections policy
If we publish something incorrect:
We correct it as quickly as possible
We may add a brief correction note in the article (when the change is significant)
Report corrections here: Contact (Subject: “Correction Request”)
5) Reviews & recommendations
For “best places” content:
We prioritize factual, traveler-useful info (seasonality, safety considerations, costs, connectivity, visa entry basics)
We avoid misleading claims and clearly separate opinions from facts
6) Affiliate links & monetization transparency
Lives Abroad may earn revenue through ads, affiliate links, or sponsorships.
If we use affiliate links, we try to recommend options based on usefulness—not just commissions.
Sponsored content (if any) will be clearly labeled.
7) Editorial independence
Monetization does not control our editorial decisions. We retain full control over what we publish and how we rate or describe destinations and programs.
