How the Lives Abroad team checks visa rules
Every entry rule on this site comes from a government page, and every page shows when we last checked it. Here is the process, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Who checks
The Lives Abroad team checks every rule before it goes on the site. We write for tourists travelling on an ordinary Pakistani passport, not diplomats or residents.
Where we look
We only cite official sources: the destination's immigration department, its foreign ministry, its official eVisa or ETA portal, or its embassy. Agency sites, visa-index tables and news reports can point us to a change, but they are never the source we link.
What each label means
- Confirmed (12 destinations): an official page covers Pakistani passports, by name or through a list Pakistan is clearly on.
- Official source, Pakistan not named (12): an official page describes the rule for all or most visitors, but does not mention Pakistan directly.
- Unconfirmed (4): we could not find an official page. We keep these in the list as leads and say so on the row.
We keep visa-free, visa on arrival and online approval separate. If any form, booking or approval is needed before you fly, the country is marked "Approval before travel".
How often we re-check
Each country shows its last checked date. We re-check the full list at least every three months, and sooner when a government announces a change. Every change we find goes into the visa rule change log with its source.
Corrections
If you find a rule that has changed, write to [email protected] or use the contact form with the official link. We check it against the government source, fix the page, and log the change with the date.
What we can't promise
The border officer makes the final decision. Rules can change without notice, so confirm with the official source or your airline before you book.
